Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking bilingual English and Dari-speaking Field Interviewers on behalf of our client in the Seattle/Everett, WA, area. Applicants within an approximate 50-mile radius of this location may be considered. As a Field Interviewer, you will conduct interviews supporting the Building Evidence on Employment Strategies (BEES) evaluation study, which provides employment services for individuals who have received treatment for substance use disorder (SUD) and are seeking to reenter the workforce.


This is a part-time position and applicants must be available at least 10 to 15 hours per week or more based on availability of work, and the project will continue until early 2026. Applicants must be available to work a combination of daytime, evenings, and weekends when Respondents will be available and must be available to attend remote project training. A tablet, keyboard and phone will be provided and is for use only on this assignment. The compensation for this position is based on your location and follows the Service Contract Act (SCA) rates. The SCA Rate for King County is $25.15 per hour, plus a $4.60 per hour Health & Welfare stipend.


Responsibilities of a Field Interviewer:

  • Follow all project specifications and protocols
  • Conduct computer-based interviews by phone and in-person with a high degree of accuracy and integrity
  • Conduct locating activities online and in-person when Respondents are difficult to reach
  • Regularly report to assigned Field Manager
  • Exercise courtesy and professionalism to all Respondents
  • Maintain confidentiality of all collected data
  • Other duties as assigned by manager


Requirements of a Field Interviewer

  • Bilingual English and Dari dialect of Farsi fluency required for this position
  • High School Diploma or the equivalent
  • Good working knowledge of computers and strong typing skills
  • Must have home wireless internet
  • Must have a private space to conduct interviews
  • Must have own reliable vehicle and insurance
  • This position requires candidates to consent to the performance of a background check


Qualifications of a Field Interviewer

  • Two years of experience interviewing or in customer service
  • Exceptional reading, verbal, and listening skills with the ability to multi-task
  • The ability to speak with Respondents using a tablet and keyboard to record responses
  • Willingness to work in-person to locate selected Households/Adult Respondents and schedule appointments and conduct interviews when they cannot be completed by phone
  • Courteous with good communication skills and “people” skills
  • Positive and self-motivated demeanor
  • Prior Field Research/Interviewing experience a plus


Additional Information:

  • Hours and Training
    • Must be available at least 10 to 15 hours per week – including some daytime and some evening hours during the week as well as on weekends when Respondents may be available
    • Project training is paid and will consist of approximately 8 hours of computer self-study at home, as well as up to 3 days of group training sessions conducted remotely shortly after hire in July.
  • Respondent compensation: As a “thank you” for their participation and completing the approximately 30-minute interview, Respondents will receive a $35 Visa gift card.
