Looking for both English and Spanish/English Bilingual Travel Field Interviewers

On behalf of our client, Headway Workforce Solutions is seeking both English and English-Spanish-Bilingual field interviewers to work on the Survey of the American Consumer. For over 40 years, this ongoing, year-round study has allowed consumers to express their opinions and preferences on all sorts of topics, including media, product usage, and behavior in nearly 600 categories. Our client conducts thousands of in-person interviews year-round and participating respondents receive an incentive as a thank you. Applicants (field researchers, data collectors, or field interviewers) must be experienced, self-motivated, professional, organized, and enjoy speaking with all kinds of people.

As a field interviewer, you will visit randomly selected households, communicate the importance of participating in the survey and recruit respondents to participate, so our ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about data collection, can gain respondent participation, enjoys a flexible schedule, and does not want to work in an office. Pay for this position is $18.75 - $ 19.75/hr with additional performance bonus opportunities that will boost your earning potential. There is also a 5% increase for those who certify Spanish-bilingual.

As a Field Interviewer, you will

• Visit pre-selected addresses, screen and gain respondent cooperation and conduct in-person interviews using a tablet
• Keep respondent information and interview details confidential
• Work independently in the field and check-in daily with assigned Field Manager
• Complete administrative paperwork
• Potentially wear a mask when completing an interview (respondents are not obligated to wear a mask, but may ask you to do so)
• Follow all company mandated health and safety protocols
• Treat all respondents with sincere professionalism

Schedule

• Travel to assigned areas and commit to working consistently for 2 weeks (average of 10-14 days) with 1 week off between assignments
• Must be willing to work in assigned areas weekdays and weekends, afternoons, and evenings
• Client will consider employees who can travel locally and are willing to stay at a hotel for six consecutive nights

As a condition of employment, all employees are required to…

• Have previous field work experience
• Present proof of identity and authorization to work in the United States
• Have a driver’s license and unlimited use of an automobile in working condition (exceptions may be made for areas with reliable public transportation)
• Consent to the performance of a background check including motor vehicle report
• Attend paid virtual group training sessions prior to the first assignment and for the duration of employment
• Have a high school diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications

• In-person interviewing experience on household studies
• Strong reading, verbal, and written communication skills
• Strong technology skills (using smartphone and tablet)

Pay and Training

• Training weeks are November 6th and November 28th; training dates are confirmed once onboarding paperwork is completed
• Complete 27 hours of training
• Must use device with large screen [no cell phones] and camera, and have reliable Internet to successfully complete training course
• Spanish-English Bilingual are required to pass bilingual certification
• Certified bilingual Spanish interviewers earn additional compensation
• Paid time and mileage for traveling to selected households
• Mileage reimbursement at standard government rate
• Per diem provided on travel assignments

Physical Requirements

• Ability to operate a motor vehicle for study purposes
• Get in and out of a car multiple times a day while visiting areas
• Walk from house to house within neighborhoods
• Carry a laptop and other materials up flights of stairs
• Possess effective communication skills through speech and listening and fluency in English through reading, writing, and speaking
• Exposure to various weather and environments, as might be expected in a field interviewing role
