Jean-Pierre (JP) Sakey President & CEO
JP Sakey has a passion for business with over three decades of experience in executive leadership roles, having served, for the past 13 years, as CEO of Headway. He began his foray into the human capital sector with the buyout of SPEC Group Holdings, and subsequently fostered a ten-fold growth over a six year period before SPEC was acquired by TMP Worldwide. JP has served as president of Monster.com’s e-Resourcing Americas group, has been an advisory member of the North Carolina Governor’s Innovation Council, and was recognized by Human Resource Outsourcing Today with their prestigious HRO Super Star Provider Award for his vison, influence and tenacity.
As a licensed CPA with over thirty years of financial management experience, primarily in HR outsourcing and temporary staffing industries, Joe provides strategic financial and operational leadership for Headway Workforce Solutions managing a team of senior executives in the provision of human capital solutions that promote innovation, drive efficiencies and exceed client expectations. Joe and JP Sakey have long been an effective entrepreneurial team, beginning with the buyout of SPEC Group Holdings, where Joe helped facilitate six years of accelerated growth before its acquisition by TMP Worldwide. In 2004, the two joined forces again when Joe became the chief financial officer at Headway. Since then Joe has been instrumental in overseeing Headway’s tremendous growth with revenues currently exceeding $130M.
With twenty-three years of fostering client relationships at Headway, Cindy Waugh, based in our Virginia office, is responsible for the ongoing management of existing and incoming clients. She negotiates contracts, responds to RFI’s and RFP’s, oversees recruitment billing and invoicing, and mentors and trains incoming staff. As the senior vice president of Virginia operations, Cindy monitors and pursues potential sales opportunities, while developing specific staffing solutions to meet the changing needs of Headway’s established client base.
John Schuller Senior Vice President, Operations
With over fifteen years of complex project management experience and an MA in business administration, John Schuller provides strategic leadership for the CORE Service Delivery team. He manages a team of program and account managers focused upon the achievement of client-based objectives while implementing cutting edge technologies that keep Headway Workforce Solutions at the forefront of the human capital solutions sector. John oversees pricing, budgeting and contract management while working closely with the SVP of Sales and Business Development to ensure client satisfaction through adherence to contractual SLAs.
Michele Scollard Senior Vice President, Sales & Business Development
With over 25 years of experience in engineering management and customized staffing solutions sales, Michele Scollard joins Headway from an eleven-year executive management role at IBM. Currently overseeing the strategic direction of the sales and marketing departments, Michele leads a team specifically focused on expanding business within existing accounts and identifying and cultivating new business solutions with new clients. Michele has been the nine-time recipient of the Annual Top Sales Achievement Award and is dedicated to providing innovative and customized human capital solutions for a variety of research and retail-sector organizations, government agencies and Fortune 500 companies.
Joshua Rivera has been employed with Headway for 25 years in a number of different positions, including payroll processor, billing coordinator and systems analyst. Currently, Joshua leads and coordinates the Shared Services Group, which combines the management functions of payroll, billing, and onboarding. He establishes and implements short- and long-range departmental policies and objectives with the view to maximizing efficiencies while simultaneously providing a high level of consultative services to all levels of field office and client management. In addition, Joshua manages payroll and billing on a weekly processing schedule for 15,000 employees a year.
With fifteen plus years’ experience working in the staffing industry, HR Certifications from HRCI and SHRM and a degree in psychology from Meredith College, Mary Thornbury provides strategic HR support at Headway Workforce Solutions in legal compliance, employee relations, benefits administration and compensation review. Together with her HR team, Mary manages unemployment and workplace safety and injuries, compensation, corporate payroll processing and all leaves of absence. She is responsible for managing benefits plans and compliance in fifty states, filing applicable government reports, and, in addition, works with various offsite HR teams in the management and resolution of employee grievances. Mary is a professional member of both SHRM National and the Raleigh Wake Human Resources Chapter.
